Did you know the last Saturday in September is National Ghost Hunting Day? Every year, paranormal investigators, ghost tour guides, and curious adventurers from all over the world grab their flashlights and step into the dark together.
This year, National Ghost Hunting Day 2025 falls on September 27.
Why We’re Calling It The Day After
Now here’s the twist: I can’t actually join the hunt that day — because I’ll be pet-sitting. (Yes, even ghost hunters have fur-baby duties!) So instead, we’re celebrating the next day, on September 28.
We’re calling it: National Ghost Hunters Day — The Day After
Because let’s be honest: ghosts don’t care about calendars. They linger when they want to, and sometimes the best stories surface a day late.
Ghost Hunting in Colorado Hits Close to Home
Ghost hunting isn’t just about EMF meters and flash photography. It’s about uncovering hidden stories in our communities — the lives lived, the losses endured, and sometimes the scandals that make headlines.
In Penrose, Colorado, I smelled the stench of something wrong outside a café — only weeks before investigators uncovered nearly 200 hidden bodies at a funeral home.
In Pueblo, I visited the Fire Company No. 3 Museum… only to realize it sat right next door to Davis Mortuary, where inspectors later discovered a hidden room filled with the deceased.
These are the kinds of moments that remind me why I do what I do. Paranormal investigations and haunted history in Colorado are never far from everyday life.
Join Me in the Shadows
So while others are out ghost hunting on Saturday, I’ll be opening the door on Sunday — with stories, laughter, and maybe a respectful spirit or two willing to show up a day late.
Stay tuned here on the blog and on the In The Shadows podcast with Carly, because we’ve got some wild tales lined up for National Ghost Hunting Day — and beyond.
"Excited to share that Carly is joining me as co-host of the In The Shadows podcast — Called Shadows and Shenanigans, bringing music, laughter, and a sharp sense of the paranormal."
