Gail Conners I Founder I Spiritualist
Founder of In The Shadows Paranormal, Gail Conners has spent a lifetime exploring the unseen, weaving together history, spirit, and story. What began as a fascination with local lore grew into a mission: to teach others how to investigate the paranormal with respect and care.
Gail believes that spirits are not here for our amusement. They are people — echoes of lives once lived — and deserve to be approached with curiosity and honor. Through tours, investigations, and community events, she shares both her knowledge of tools and techniques, and her passion for listening to the voices that still linger.
Her work is rooted in Colorado’s rich past, but her vision stretches beyond — creating spaces where history, spirit, and human connection meet. Carly brings humor, insight, and a deep reverence for the whispers of the ancestors, Whether she's pulling a card, riffing on hauntingly intriguing headlines, or documenting her adventures through shadowed realms, her energy is playful, magnetic, and deeply intuitive.
Christine Owen
Associate Investigator
Christine Owen has been chasing chills and thrills with Gail since 2003, when they first bonded as neighbors in Colorado Springs. A longtime ghost-hunting sidekick and travel buddy, Christine brings sharp wit, fearless curiosity, and a love for all things spooky—from haunted history to horror flicks and Shark Week. When she’s not helping explore the unknown, she’s a devoted mom of two, an avid reader, and a familiar face in local theater. She's also one of the few brave souls who can handle Gail's ghost jokes on repeat.

Jen Van Oster – Tech Specialist & Paranormal Investigator
Jen Van Oster has been immersed in the world of the paranormal for as long as she can remember, but she began actively investigating in 2008. Driven by curiosity and a passion for uncovering the truth, Jen specializes in the technical side of paranormal research, using a scientific mindset to explore spirits, UFO phenomena, and cryptid encounters. Her detail-oriented, tech-forward approach perfectly complements her wife’s intuitive abilities, creating a balanced and dynamic investigative partnership.Over the years, Jen has conducted investigations at some of the most notoriously active locations in the country, including the Old County Jail and St. Augustine Lighthouse in Florida,
The SpookEasy Lounge and the Italian Club in Tampa, the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, the Hotel Saint Nicholas in Cripple Creek, the Pueblo Heritage Museum, and numerous private residences throughout Colorado and Florida.
Her blend of technical expertise, open-minded curiosity, and friendly, grounded personality makes her a reliable presence on any investigation—whether she’s setting up equipment, reviewing evidence, or diving into historical research.
When she’s not chasing down unexplained phenomena, Jen is a devoted sports fan and lifelong student of history, always finding ways to connect her passions to the stories and mysteries she uncovers.
Sandi Hughes -
Paranormal Investigator, Sensitive
Sandi brings a unique blend of intuition, experience, and curiosity to the team. A lifelong explorer of the unseen, she combines grounded investigative methods with a deep sensitivity to energy and environment. Her background in storytelling, meditation, and ritual arts helps her connect patterns, symbols, and impressions that others might miss.
Whether digging in to historical records, interpreting EVPs, or tuning into the emotional imprint of a location, Sandi approaches every case with respect, clarity, and an open mind. She believes that every haunting has a story—and every spirit deserves to be heard.
When she’s not investigating, Sandi creates art, spends time outdoors, and continues to study spiritual symbolism, dreamwork, and the nature of consciousness.
